Cape Leeuwin WA 6286
Cape Leeuwin is Australia’s most south-westerly point. Located within the spectacular Leeuwin-Naturaliste NP, it is 230 km south of Perth in the Margaret River region. Cape Leeuwin is home to a limestone lighthouse (1896) affording panoramic views from the top (186 steps and 7 floors) and also the historic calcified timber waterwheel (see pic) and wooden flume (1895). The national park spans the coast from here to Cape Naturaliste (120 km) and features rugged cliffs, rocky headlands and excellent surfing & swimming beaches.
